It sounds as though the 2022 models already have this "upgrade"? Can anyone confirm if that is in fact the case? Is it reversible?

It is difficult to explain the sound, but the closest comparison I can illustrate is as if your back tires kiss the edge of a rumble strip or you driving over three small bumps in the road. You do not feel it, but can audibly hear a quick burp-bur-burp. I am not sure I would call it an "upgrade" and it is certainly not "refined" IMO, but it should make us feel good that BMW is actively listening to feedback and offering remote updates, which is quite amazing in itself.
