There's a lot of good advice here, but I'll echo that xDrive is probably the way to go since it can't be added later. It helps traction off the line and out of turns. At worst, you won't regret having xDrive.
A car is such a losing investment that I don't factor in whether options affect resale.
I'd also like to echo that when you're buying a car like this, you shouldn't be compromising. Go build one on BMWUSA's site and see what you like best - at the very least, familiarize yourself with what it can come with. There's nothing worse than buying off the lot and then realizing "oh wait, it could have had
that option?"
