That's what people said about M2CS and there were plenty available for purchase without preorders required.
Same thing was also said about 1M.
I don't predict it to be that tough to get one at time of release.
But you're right in that it'll be unlikely that BMW puts a manual in it bc that would require them to listen to their core base. If you're going to make it anyway, why not stick a manual in it? I can't give BMW too much of a hard time though, bc it's one of the few companies still making a stick.
