I think the fact BMW have put it out there that there will be an official LCI/facelift for G8x for first time and not just model upgrade measures suggests to me big changes coming. Be it interior, exterior or engine.
Precedents have already been set with the M2, M5 and the X's and I think major visual changes can't be ruled out.
At a minimum, new front (no more laser and invert the DRLs, like the 3er) and rear lights (swap white glass for red) but that's what the upgrade measures already change.
