I think they mean it will be the last non-hybrid M car to be launched. Next generation M5 (H90?) will definitely be hybrid, and the next M3 (H80?) will likely be also. Though there's always the possibility that the extension of the G8X means the next gen will be a full BEV. I doubt it, but it's possible.
