You see, the LS series engines is the jack of all trades, a master of all. That's why people swap them in.

They're simple.
They're affordable.
They're reliable.
They have incredible aftermarket.
They're a powerhouse stock.
They get good MPG.
They're torque monsters.
They're easily attainable.
They sound amazing.
They fit virtually in any car with essentially no modifications.

It's a no brainer on why people do them. I think the only reason why someone wouldn't want to do it even though they have all the access and/or money to do it, is because they want to try something different and not copy what everyone else is doing.

Otherwise everyone will be driving an LS based car.
