As an update, my SA texted me earlier. The parts manager of the dealer informed him today that the ETA for the engine is end of next week.
I'm not expecting it to happen, but will obviously love if it winds up there when they say it will!

Might be easier for you to ask for them to buy the car with a trade assist or something if you guys are concerned with the time.
