Let's say the prime minister or the president is visiting your town, or maybe even the Pope.
And as he is walking by a crowd, you or someone else like the cat thief lunge at the man and try to snatch his necklace or just jump on him, do you think the ARMED bodyguards of the president would be justified to blast you?? Maybe you had something shiny in your hand , like a wrench, the security has to make a split second decision to assess the danger level and respond effectively to ensure the safety of their client. Is that a death sentence if you die from your injuries??
Who's choice was it to attack?? Did someone compel you?
Sometimes your choices can have un expected repercussions , beyond what you thought possible, but in end it was YOUR CHOICE that lead to the chain of events... dont blame anyone but yourself...
Back in the day they would cut off your hand if you had the gall to take something that wasnt yours. A polite society is an armed and dangerous society where deterrence is best form of crime prevention.
