IMO, the grille is not the problem with this design. The problem is removing all BMW styling cues, replacing them with other manufacturer styling cues, and then calling this Frankenstein design a BMW because it has a big double kidney grille.
Wait until the next 7-Series and the X7 LCI show up with a Hyundai face and the BMW grille will also be removed for something more whatever.
