Turn it into the responsible parties insurance company not your own.

If you turn it into your own insurance company it will be subject to your deductible and subrogation can take a very long time against the responsible parties insurer. Also you usually can not get diminished value from your own insurance company only the other parties. Lastly, who wants an insurance claim on their record even if subrogated will still show on your record as a not a fault loss paid.

Trust me turn it in to the neighbors insurance company
