GOOD! They're supposed to look that way.
I have one, and it's the best dog I've ever owned!

I spent the extra dollars on training, and had someone come by during my work day to let him out, and he's fantastic. I can leave out bags of chips on the tables, drop food on the floor, ect.. He doesn't care about anything (cept the cheese wrapper ). But a stranger comes around 70 feet of my home and I know about it. We've had dogs like rottweilers and chow's, but a doberman is a whole other level for alertness and security.

The thing about young dogs is that they need mental stimulation through the day, or else they will start wrecking stuff. It could be anxiety, anger, or a variety of other stresses all linked to a lack of time spent socializing it. I think too many people buy a pupper and decide they can squeeze it into their work schedule of 9hrs (+commute). And it always ends with "my dog destroys shit" or "my dog doesn't listen".
