If at all possible I'd recommend you get a look at both in the wild... For the first time today I saw a 4 series in person - M440i. From a distance I thought it might be an 8 series from the thin tail lights but once I caught up I saw it was a 4 series - Sat in sharp G80 last weekend, loved the interior but the sedan exterior just didn't move me anything like this M440i did
Since I have a M4CX on order it may be my confirmation bias kicking in - But I don't think so.
