The original e21 3 series had a tall & fully connected kidney grille that looked good, as did the 2002 and e9 before it, but it still doesn't make the current one any less hideous.
I'd take the e21 (or the e24!) - actually, I've already owned 2 e21s in the past. Loved my 323i, which of course is slow by modern standards, but was a hoot at the time.
Not feeling the quad centre exhausts (unless it's on a McLaren or Pagani
)
