it's good that they are keeping manual as an option, regardless of what engine or awd/rwd layout it is offered in

Dct might have been good for several yrs, but the "newer" auto, according to manufacturers (not me), can take up more torque stress and shift even smoother and as fast as dct, and ultimately is more reliable source to utilize in sports cars.

With that said, automatic/dct is an evolving technology, no one wants a 20yr old shitbox tranny (smg cough cough) today, in the same way that no one wants to use an iphone 3 when there's an iphone X.
Manual is a different entity though, like how he mentioned it's like a mechanical watch. a 1973 911 manual shifts the same mechanism as 2019 F80 M3 6MT.
It's not upto the technology, it's YOU who's in control of the rpm and speed, and that's the beauty of driving manual cars.
That's why F430 6MT is still shooting up in value and why GT3 came back with manual option.
if all you want is speed and fast shifting with less lag everytime you shift (lol....) why not jus get a Tesla with no shifting lag (no tranny in existence) with an electric motor...
