They did tell me that some people will have affected options removed from their builds and have the money credited back to them, but all these options only apply to the standard seats. so it seems like if you ordered carbon buckets all your options are safe from the chip shortages

I would rather wait as well; I ordered the carbon bucket seats so none of those potentially lost options apply to me, but from what genius said it doesn't seem like waiting will be an option. They'll start production without them if parts aren't available in a reasonable timeframe.
