i went ahead and tested on my car. with the driver seat disconnected i do get a parking assistance error but the codes are not the same. i did analysis with ISTA and it determines that the parking malfunction is due to the automatic parking feature requiring a signal for the driver seatbelt contact. So, possibly you are on the right track with the thought about driver occupancy, but because there is no occupancy sensor on the driver seat, they are using the seat belt contact (presumably under normal conditions the auto park is disabled when the seat belt isnt buckled? would be interesting to confirm).

i would think that a possible solution for this could be to decode automatic parking, assuming that is in fact the issue you are having , which im not sure about as again , the codes are completely different.
