Totally agree on paper, no link at all but it appeared after disconnecting the OEM driver seat, put the driver race seat and move the car to get enough space to do the passenger seat. When the car was fired on and reverse selected, park assist launch automatically and prompt the error. But everything works (all cameras, sensors, etc). What I can't select for example is automatic parking or automatic reverse (things I never use anyway as my car is not my daily and very much close to a track tool now)

And you're sure it is related to the rear camera? Cannot be the front one or one the mirrors' one?

It’s also possible seat belt latching necessary for park assist to work now since other sensors aren’t in the seat anymore, like occupancy, etc.

If everything truly is plugged in right and no issues, I would try a complete power cut on the car (remove battery power from it for 2 min) and then plug it back in. Then see where you’re at as this would totally power cycle all modules in the car and start fresh. This won’t mess with your coding you’ve done, so you shouldn’t have to worry about that. If for some reason any modules complain about anything, doing a full code clearing via software after reconnecting the battery should clear that all up. If you still have issues after this, then either something physically changed when you messed with the new seat (maybe pinched wire or something) or testing to make sure all your systems worked wasn’t done after the seat install after coding and this is simply a feature you ran into that won’t work due to this.

The only car that has racing buckets in it without any sensors is the CSL and that car doesn’t have park assist because it doesn’t have the surround cameras, so maybe is coding was done to match that, maybe that’s why the function is failing now. *♂️
Will try to clarify. Coding was done after all the work on swapping seats.
The error appeared as soon as we fired the car with the race seat in for the driver and put it in reverse to move it to get enough space to work on the passenger seat / race seat install.

The only thing that was disconnected from the car was the driver seat, there's nothing to plug back. Seat buckles can't be connected anymore (that's why you have to code them out).

About pinching wires, I don't know where that could be possible in the car. The new race seats consoles are dedicated to the G8x, they don't compress anything, etc.

I will try to disconnect the battery of the car but my BMW tech chief friend who made a whole reset by Remote ISTA didn't succeed. Let's give it a try anyway.

I didn't see a lot of guys doing race seats on the G8x platform, at best they swap between Comfort and OEM bucket ones. So this park assist thing is a mystery. As you say it is perhaps normal, that's also why I asked here if anyone encounter the same problem (but didn't tell anyone).

The error in itself is not a problem to drive the car, just to pain to acknowledge it each time you get in the car and has to use reverse. At least you just get the warning once per trip.

Thanks to both of you for this first help answers I also hope my english is as ok and accurate as possible to describe my problem.
