Correct answer. There is no way the M4 CS, which is at most 40lbs lighter and with the same running gear, will be 11secs faster than the M3 CS.

The rumor started because of BMW's "4 cars, 1 day" video which shows a graphic at the end with the M2/M3CS/CSL and a "M Prototype" listed last with the time blurred out. First, you need to assume this is the M4 CS, which is probable but not confirmed. Second, you need to assume the M Proto time is faster only on the basis that it is listed last in the graphic.

Logic would dictate there are two plausible outcomes a) this is the M4 CS and they deliberately put it last so as not to reveal the actual position (e.g. faster or slower than the M3 CS). Or b) the M prototype is a completely different mule perhaps with a mild hybrid system or full electric making huge power.

Of these, a) seems the most probable. We should know in January.
