I’ve always associated exposed CF with Hypercars when CF was god awful expensive. I relate CF body panels to high end cars. The weave is very nice on the G8X. Nothing wrong with a sunroof if you have the headroom. While bmw sunrooms have a bad reputation once they get 10 years old you can mitigate that by clearing out the drain holes more often and ensure the weathstriping stays subtle.
I suspect most of us will sell our cars before we get close to 7-10 year old mark.
