I did take the mirror plug out and it was not easy. I think the prongs can be inserted only one way which is beneath the wires (if u look at the pic above) but having the right diameter prongs is the key. I’d of given up so fast upon breaking any of the plug. Thankful it worked out for you, I used needle nose pliers to hold the prongs and used the 2nd smallest size (kit came w 4) then pushed them in, again using pliers as it’s probably impossible without them.
