In terms of real numbers, call any large bmw dealership and you’ll realize the wait list for M3 orders is much longer than for M4 orders.
As stated by Cane, historically coupe version outsells sedan version and this has been recorded plenty of times. Just because its hard to get a G80 allocation, it doesnt mean that it outsells the G82. There isnt any real time data on G8x platform, but BMW has been historically making more coupes than the sedans. Below threads have additional information about previous generations.
