Our friends at Studie AG in Japan are way out in front on the hunt for 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels. These links show successful installs on older BMW E/F Platforms in a variety of models and in different exterior paint colors.

Now the bad news. The 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels are only being released for newer BMW F/G-Platforms. But many are backwards compatible with older BMW E/F-Platform models for the hood/trunk.

Don't expect 50th Anniversary Classic M wheel center caps for older BMW E/F-Platforms with 5 x 120mm bolt patterns. No floating wheel center caps either, even for newer F/G-Platforms. So if you don't want roundel mismatches between the hood/trunk and wheel center caps, go custom roundels.

So fitment information for older BMW E/F-Platforms won't be available on websites like ECS Tuning, Turner Motorsports, FCP Euro, Pelican Parts, and Get BMW Parts. GetBMWParts and ECS Tuning are listing some of the 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundel PNs, but with no fitment information.

Luckily, vendors like IND, BMW Parts Pros, Paddleshifterz, etc. will perform manual fitment verification, so you can match up your older BMW E/F-Platform models to the newest 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundel PNs. But you won't be able to get matching center wheel caps...Go custom or aftermarket BMW roundels.

In general, you will be able to find 50th Anniversary Classic M 2 pin roundels, and adhesive/no pin roundels, and 2 pin+adhesive roundels. Just don't count on the mounting being exactly the same between your current BMW roundels and the new 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundels. So use fishing line to check to see if your current roundel is adhered with an adhesive before removing it and wrecking your paint (use masking tape). Some adhesive-only roundels have 2-3 alignment holes to center your emblem, so it is straight and level.

Also, some BMW vendors will just ship an adhesive/2 pin 50th Anniversary Classic M Roundel hood/trunk set, since there is limited stock from BMW. So you might have to break the pins off. You can avoid this by being patient and waiting a few weeks until more photos appear online that show the back of each roundel, and associated part nos., like the Paddleshifterz YT video.

Example Fitment:
- E9X M3s should have front/rear roundels with 2 pins and no adhesive for both the hood/trunk. The 50th Anniversary Classic M Retrofit Roundel you purchase should be available with 2 pins with no adhesive or 2 pins/adhesive.

- F3X 328i/330i's and 335i/340i's and 4-Series cars should have front/rear roundels with adhesive/no pins on the hood and 2 pins with no adhesive for the trunk. The 50th Anniversary Classic M Retrofit Roundel you purchase should be available with adhesive/no pins or 2 pins/adhesive or 2 pins/no adhesive.

BMW Farfegnugen reaches a new low again. #@$%&#@

How could BMW screw up roundels?

Cheers
