If I get AT I am afraid that the G80 will feel pretty similar to the M340i (same trans + won't be using all of the G80's power on public roads). On the other hand, I am afraid that the MT will frustrate me especially after hearing BMW clutch engagement is vague.

Before the M340i I drove the 86/BRZ first gen and GTI last gen MTs. I would always smile when driving but I sometimes got annoyed with day-to-day errands. Going up a parking garage ramp into a busy pedestrian crosswalk and having Prius up my ass was never fun even with hill assist. My OCD nature also had me paranoid I was burning the clutch so I would always try to take off with the lowest amount of RPMs. The G80 has a ton of torque so I was hoping all of this would go away in a modern MT but I wanted to see how the G80s MT felt from actual owners.
The harder you drive the 6MT the better the clutch engagement feels.
