Because I suspect that this will be the last generation of these cars to offer a manual transmission, and the gains in technology (which I interact with extensively while driving) likely outweigh the baffling appearance (which I don't interact with much at all while driving). That said, if the performance isn't there for the driving I prefer to do (very fast on twisty back-roads) due to the weight and/or the length, the scale tips. Will have to drive it to see; certainly not considering a purchase without direct experience given the uncertainties.
